Summit suffered through one of its worst 1st quarters of the season. It was bad at both ends of the court. Nothing would drop for the Hilltoppers on offense and Elizabeth shredded the defense with fast break points.

Things continued to go downhill in the 2nd quarter and midway through the quarter Elizabeth's lead grew to 19 (32-13). A 9-0 run by Summit helped Summit end the half down 12 points (37-25). That left Summit in a hole that was tough to overcome. To Summit's credit the fought Elizabeth pretty even during the 3rd quarter and entered the 4th quarter by 14 points.

In the final quarter the defense picked up the pace and the shots began to drop. But Summit was still behind 66-53 with only 4 minutes left in the game. Over the next 2:30 Summit went on a 14-5 run. Three straight 3s by Dwayne Reid combined a layup and another 3-pointer by Dwight Reid. Suddenly the lead was cut to 4 points (71-67). Now there was pandemonium among the Summit fans. During the final minutes Summit had many opportunities but turnovers and mistakes thwarted the Hilltoppers efforts and they were forced to foul. Sadly, Elizabeth made the foul shots to ice the game.

Dwayne Reid led the scoring with 22 points (six 3-pointers), Dwight Reid had 19 points (two 3-pointers), Smith had 15 points (three 3 pointers) and 13 rebounds. All totaled Summit had 12 - 3 point field goals. A record for this season.
