Dwayne Reid reached a major milestone in tonight's game. He led the Summit scoring with 28 points, which gave him a career total of 1007 points. Dwayne thus became only the 4th Summit player to score more than 1000 points in his career at Summit, and the 1st player in 23 years to do so. Summit jumped to a 15-4 lead at the 3:16 point in the 1st quarter, led by 4 3-pointers (2 by Dwayne Reid and 1 each by John Alpizar & Mike Dugan). Summit outscored Hoboken 13-6 in the 2nd quarter and ended the half up 30-15. Summit's defense was so strong that Hoboken failed to score a single field goal in the 2nd quarter, getting all 6 points from the foul line. The scoring continued unabated and with 5 minutes left in the game Summit enjoyed a 59-30 lead. Summit then went to its bench for the remainder of the game. Wellington Smith and Mike Dugan led the rebounding with 8 apiece. |
