Summit won another easy victory, but it wasn't a thing of beauty. It was notable because Dwight Reid played his first minutes since injuring his knee 4 weeks into the football season. It was fitting that on the first possession after entering the game in the 2nd quarter he scored off a nice feed from his brother.
Mike Dugan got things going in the 1st quarter with 10 points and Summit finished the quarter ahead 16-5. The 2nd quarter was one of the sloppiest the team has played in a long time and West Essex out scored summit 14-10 to get to within 7 points.
Whatever Coach Maxwell said at halftime worked because things took off behind Wellington Smith's 12 points and Dwayne Reid's 8 points. It was easy going from there on.
Smith led Summit with 21 points, 11 rebounds and many blocked shots. Dugan and Dwayne Reid were in double didgits with 13 and 12 points respectively.
The Hanover Park game has been moved from next Thursday to Saturday (2/14) at 1PM
