Summit came out hot in the 1st quarter behind Wellington Smith's 11 points and Anthony Rea's 6 points. At one point they were ahead 22-3. However, West Essex came back with 9 unanswered point in an attempt to make it a ball game. Dwayne Reid rose to the occasion and ripped off 9 quick points to give Summit a 30-17 lead at halftime.
Smith and Reid continued on a roll through the 3rd quarter and the first part of the 4th. The remainder of the game was handled by players coming off the bench and everyone got some significant playing time. Reid and Smith led the Summit offense with 23 and 21 point respectively. Chris Dean led the rebounding with 8.
