Summit jumped all over Dover in the 1st inning and built what looked like an unbeatable lead. Dover battled back, with the help of some Summit errors, and grabbed a 11-10 lead in the top of the 5th inning. Summit came roaring back to get back on top 14-11.

Dave Mell started strong but ran into a tough stretch in the 4th inning. When a walk, a single and a hit batter loaded the bases in the 5th with no outs, Jon Busciano came on in relief. He walked the first batter he faced to force in a run. However, from that point on he pitched well enough to finish the inning without any more damage if it weren't for an error on a dropped 3rd strike and an infield error on fairly routine ground ball. As it turned out 5 more unearned runs crossed the plate and Dover took an 11-10 lead. Summit came back with a 2 out rally that featured five consecutive singles by Zack Barber, Busciano, Tim Fields, Jake Huck and Andrew Furman. Mix in a couple of Dover errors and Summit came up with 4 runs to regain a 14-11 lead.

Dover threatened again in the 6th inning. The 1st batter walked, the 2nd batter doubled and the 3rd walked to load the bases with no outs. With the tieing run on base things looked dark. The next driver hit a line drive that was a sure single. Matt Fields dove to his right and caught the ball, picked himself up off the infield and threw to 2nd for a double play. Still there were runners in 1st and third with the Dover lead off hitter at bat. Busciano fell behind with a 3-2 count when, inexplicably, the runner on 1st tried to steal 2nd. A good throw by Furman got the out and the inning was over without any damage. Dover started the final inning with a single, an out to the center fielder and a base on balls. Now the tieing run was at the plate. Busciano got the next batter to popup and the cleanup batter ground out to the pitcher for the victory.

Summit's 8 run 1st inning got started when Barber led off with a triple. Busciano doubled and Tim Fields cracked a single. Jake Huck walked and Sam Rose singled. After two outs, Anthony Della Donne singled, Barber got on via an error and Busciano singled to account for the 8th run.

Busciano was credited with the win. He also went 4 for 4 including 2 singles and 2 doubles with 2 RBIs and 2 runs.
