Summit came out on top in this exciting consolation game of the Krug Tournament. Pitchers Tim Fields and Jon Busciano combined for the victory. Summit scored 3 runs in the 1st inning when Jon Busciano walked, Jake Huck singled, Andrew Furman tripled and Sam Rose singled. Madison came back with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st. Madison took a 4-3 lead in the 2nd inning. Summit regained the lead in the top of the 3rd inning. Huck was hit by the pitcher to start the inning and cam home on Furman's second consecutive triple. After a walk Woody Shepard hit into a 6-4 fielder's choice to score Furman. Three straight walks forced in Shepard for the 3rd run.

Summit added another run, unearned, in the 4th. Huck drew a walk and then scored won an error on Rose's ground ball to short. Madison countered with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning. That put the score at 7-4 in Summit's favor. Summit added 2 more runs in the 5th via a walk to Busciano, a single by Matt Fields and a pair of Madison errors. After opening the Madison half of the 5th with two walks by T. Fields Busciano came in relief. Busciano doused the fire without allowing a run.

Summit made the lead 12-5 in the top of the 6th. M. Fields walked and Anthony Della Donne laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt and beat it out for a single. Barber singled to load the bases Two fielder's choices and a double steal brought in 2 runs. Unfortunately, Madison answered with 3 unearned runs in the bottom of the inning. Summit manufactured a run in the 7th when Rose was walked and advanced to 2nd on a sacrifice bunt by Shepard. After Rose stole 3rd M. Fields laid down a perfect squeeze bunt to bring Rose home with a insurance run.

The tension built in the bottom of the 7th when Madison loaded the bases on 2 walks and a hit batter. One runner scored on a infield out that left runners on 1st and third with 2 outs. A ground ball to the 2nd baseman that should have ended the game was mishandled and a run scored. Another walk and the bases were again loaded with the tieing runs. The next batter hit a sharp ground ball to 3rd. Huck fielded it cleanly, touched on 3rd and the game was over.
