Twelve of the 23 base runners came on singles that somehow always found the gaps between the Summit infielders. Morris Hills had one extra base hit and the remaining 10 got on base via walks or being hit. Summit committed only 2 errors but they came at crucial points that resulted in 6 unearned runs.
Summit first run came in the 1st inning when Zach Barber, Jon Buscaino and Tim Fields drew back-to-back walks. Barber eventually scored on a balk. The other run came in the 5th inning. Barber singled to start the inning, stole 2nd and scored on Tim Fields' single.
