Summit took on a somewhat improved Weequahic team at Weequahic Park. However, the game ended in 6 innings as a result of the "Mercy" rule. Matt Fields was the starting pitcher but had to turn the mound over to Jon Busciano after two innings because of pain in his shoulder. M. Fields left the mound with a 6-2 lead.

Busciano turned in a fine performance for 4 innings. He wound up striking out 11 of the 12 batters he faced and gave up only 1 unearned run.

The top of the batting order had a big day at the plate. Lead off hitter, Zach Barber, went 3 for 4 (2 singles and a triple) with 2 RBIs and scoring 4 runs. Busciano went 2 for 3, scored 3 runs and had 3 RBIs. Tim Fields had 2 doubles and scored 2 runs. A big day for the first three in the lineup.

Jake Huck and Andrew Furman each had 2 hits in 4 at bats. Even though M. Fields left with the lead Busciano was credited with the win since, as a starter, Fields didn't pitch the required number of innings. Weequahic set something of a record in that forced the game to go 6 innings. Most past meeting have ended in 5 innings under the mercy rule.
