Summit took the opening kickoff and drove 83 yards in 15 plays for a touchdown. This was the longest sustained drive of the season and gave a real lift to the Summit morale. The drive featured the running of Will gruetzmacher and Pearce Talbot along with pass receptions by Scott O'Sulivan, Todd Kaiser and John Stuckey. The final 14 yards were covered by a TD pass from Jacob Huck to Todd Kaiser, Gruetzmacher kicked the extra point and things were looking good. However, the stands quieted down a bit when Dover took the kickoff and drove 66 yards in 16 plays to tie the score.

After Summit went 3 and out, Dover again marched from their 45 yard line to a 1st down at Summit's 15 yard line in 6 quick play. Fortunately, the Summit defense stiffened and forced Dover to settle for a 31 yard field goal with only 1:12 left in the half. Amazingly, Summit got the ball back on their 20 and used its passing game to get a 1st down on the Dover 11 yard line with 30 seconds still on the clock. A pass to Stuckey moved the ball to the 44, Gruetzmacher caught one at the 50, O'Sullivan's catch put the ball on the 34, Talbot's moved it to the 28 and Kaiser hauled a pass in at the 11. The next 3 passes were incomplete and Summit had to settle for a 28 yard Gruetzmacher field goal with 7 second left on the clock.

Summit's defense came out roaring in the 2nd half and completely turned the game around. They held Dover to 24 yards rushing and 15 yards passing in the entire 2nd half. On Summit's first possession of the half they drove 80 yards in 11 plays. Kaiser covered the final 9 yards on a pass from Huck, for his 2nd TD of the game. Dover went 3 and out and Summit started again from their 43. Six plays later, helped by a 15 yard Dover penalty, Huck hit O'Sullivan for a 6 yd TD. The 2-point PAT was good on a pass to Kaiser. With the score now 24-10 in the 4th quarter, Dover was forced to go to the pass and were immediately intercepted by O'Sullivan.on Summit's 45 yard line. Summit again scored with the final 6 yards being covered by Huck's run. Stuckey hauled in 2 crucial passes in the drive, one of 7 yards and another of 21 yards.

It was great to have Kaiser back in action after not being able to play since being injured in the Weequahic game.
