It was a bad night for the Hilltoppers. Turnovers killed the Summit offense as Weequahic recovered 5 fumbles and sapped any energy that Summit could generate. Summit was playing without the services of their primary wide receiver, James Johnson, as well as John Facchinei who was hurt in the game against Morris Hills. To add to Summit's woes, Todd Kaiser was injured early in the 2nd half and left the game for good.

The first points, and Summit's only score, came mid-way through the 1st quarter, Summit started it's 2nd possession on their 29 yard Line. On 2nd and 8 Jacob Huck hit John Stuckey for 56 yards, down to the Weequahic 13 yard line. A run by Pearce Talbot took the ball to the 12 and Will Gruetzmacher scored on a sweep around the left side of the line. He kicked the extra point and things seemed to be on track. However, things went downhill from there. On Summit's next possession they were forced to punt. The punt went off the side of the punter's foot and didn't even get to the line of scrimmage. Weequahic took over on the Summit 41 yard line. Two passes later they were in the end zone and the game was tied.

Summit took the kickoff on their 23 yard line. On the 2nd play of the series Weequahic scooped up a Summit fumble on the 27 and ran it in to give Weequahic a 13-7 lead. Summit's next possession started on the Summit 33 yard line. Nine plays moved the ball to the Weequahic 25 yard line. The drive was terminated by another fumble and the half ended 13-7.

Summit's opening possession of the 2nd half looked promising Summit moved to a 1st down on the Weequahic 17 yard line powered by a 27 yard pass to Stuckey and a 15 yard sweep by Gruetzmacher. However, a holding call moved the ball back to the 34 yard line and the drive ended on downs at the 15 yard line. Weequahic took over and moved 85 yards in 9 plays to go ahead by two TDs. Summit tried to rebound, but another fumble turnover did them in and put the game out of reach. Weequahic went on to score 2 more TDs in the 4th quarter.
