Through most of the 1st half it looked like any minute Summit was going to blow the game wide open, but it never really happened. Admittedly, Summit left the half with a 10 point lead, but it wasn't a comfortable lead. The 3rd quarter showed how tenuous the lead was. Midway through the quarter Summit still had a 9 point lead (35-26). However, West Essex scored the final 9 points of the quarter as they got hot from behind the 3 point line.

Fortunately, Summit connected with 6 of 6 free throws to start the 4th quarter, Four by Wellington Smith and 2 by John Alpizar. After a WE 3-pointer and a free throw, Summit scored the next 7 points on FGs by Smith and Maurice Torres plus free throws by Josh Sussman (1), and Alpizar (2) and the lead was back to 9 points (48-39). West Essex didn't really threaten again.

Smith led the offenses again with 27 points. In addition, he pulled down 13 rebounds. Summit was stone cold shooting 3-pointers as they failed to connect on any of their 10 attempts. Three pointers were a big difference as West Essex managed to score on 6 of their tries.

The "Wellington Watch" begins as he needs only 32 more points to reach the 1000 point career mark.
