Summit started its consolation match versus Millburn ooking to not only pick up its 3rd win but to avenge losses to this team in each of the last 2 years. Although the Hilltoppers started out strong on defense, allowing a mere 8 points in the quarter, the offense did not seem to get on track as Summit failed to connect on any shot over 10ft. The pattern continued in the 2nd quarter as the defense held Millburn to only 6 points but Summit could only muster 3 points in the same quarter. Summit
went 5/25 in the half and only its stingy defense kept the score at 14-14.

The Hilltoppers made it a priority to speed up the game and pressure Millburn. The strategy worked up to a point. Although Summit was able to score a number of easy baskets and build a 5 point lead, Millburn was able to hit a handful of long range 2's to stay within reach. The first 4:30 seconds of the 4th quarter proved to be less than stellar for the Lady Hilltoppers. Although Summit entered the quarter with a 29-24 lead, that lead was quickly erased due to a few turnovers and a number of ill-advised shots. Millburn actually held a 33-32 lead with 3:30 left until Danielle Scott led the Hilltopper charge going 6 for 6 from the foul line (4 for 4 in last minute) while Renee Freeden hit a key 2 pointer to keep Summit in front in the last 90 seconds.
