Summit gave league leader Morris Hills a run for their money yesterday. The Hilltoppers were able to handle Morris Hills' pressure defense effectively enough and converted on their own opportunities down around the basket to be within 2 at half-time (21-19). However, Summit lost Grace Obando for the game early in the 2nd quarter due to a minor knee injury.

Danielle Scott also picked up 3 fouls in the first half and had to sit out a portion of the 3rd quarter. The Hilltoppers were going to be thoroughly tested in the 3rd not having 2 of their starters but the team rallied and was able to stay close with Morris Hills, down only 6 at the start of the 4th, 33-27.

The Hilltoppers fought to catch up for most of the 4th, shutting down the Morris Hills offense until the late stages of the 4th, closing to within 4 points (35-31). However, Morris Hills iced the game from the line, going 8 for 11 while Summit was unable to score again.

Of note, Danielle Scott hit her 8th double/double of the season with 10 pts. and 13 rebounds. Senior Captain Allison Cahott in only her 2nd game back from injury, contributed a double/double of her own, leading the Hilltoppers with 13 pts and 13 rebounds.
