Mon 04/10 1;30PM Dover A Won 12-8 The Jr. Varsity Baseball Team jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first inning led by John Tolve's Grand Slam. Dover worked their way back into the game but Summit was able to hold them off with solid pitching performances from Simon Schwarzmaier and Kevin McAvey. The final Score was 12-8. This was the teams first victory of the year, evening out their record to 1-1.
Tue 04/11 4:00PMParsippany Hills H Won 11-1 The JV Baseball team won it's 2nd straight game today, beating Parsippany Hills in 5 innings. Mike Wagner pitched a great game. Kevin McAvee led the teams offensive attack, going three for three with a double and a triple 
Thu 04/13 4:00PMUnion Catholic H Won 16-8 The Summit JV Baseball Team won their 3rd straight game defeating Union Catholic. Fred Westpahlen led the team with four hits. Peter Novo also was a big part in the offensive attack with three hits. The team improved to 3-1 with this win.
Sat 04/15 12:00PMGovernor Livingston A Lost 3-0 The Summit JV Baseball team lost a close game to Governor Livingston. Mike Wagner pitched a solid 6 innings. Erick Umana, John Tolve and Cooper Sacks turned two double plays late in the game to keep things close. 
Mon 04/17 4:00PMChatham A Won 13-4 The Summit JV Baseball team defeated Chatham to improve their record to 4-2. Dave Reynolds pitched a solid 3 innings and Simon Schwarzmaier also pitched well to close out the game.  
Wed 04/19 4:00PMMendham H Won 13-8 Down 7-0 in the 3rd inning the team rallied back to win. Kevin McAvey, Dave Reynolds and Simon Schwarzmaier all pitched well. Cooper Sacks made a few great plays at second base. John Tolve, Mike Wagner and Fred Westphalen all had 2 hits to lead the teams comeback.
Fri 04/21 4:00PMHanover Park A Lost 15-8 The Summit JV Baseball team lost a tough 7 inning baseball game to an undefeated Hanover Park team. The team played well, but came up a little short after posting another late inning rally.
Tue 04/25 4:00PM Oratory Won 12-2 The Summit JV Baseball team beat Oratory Prep in the first round of the Union County Tournament to improve to their record to 6-3 on the season. Simon Schwarzmaier hit his second homerun of the season in the first inning. Kevin McAvey pitched a solid 5 innings.
Wed 04/26 4:00PMMorris Hills H Tied 3-3 in 5 innings. Mike Wagner pitched a solid 5 innings. Shaun Ruane hit a triple which tied the game in the 4th inning.  
Thu 04/27 4:00PM Parsippany H Won 4-3 in 8 innings. Simon Schwarzmaier pitched a great game. Peter Novo had 3 hits and made two great plays in right. Erick Umana had the game winning hit in the bottom of the 8th.

Fri 05/05 4:00PMParsippany Hills A Won 10-8 The Summit JV Baseball team beat Parsippany Hills on Friday to improve their record to 9-6-1. The team was down two runs in the 7th inning, but battled back. Michael Tricanowicz had a big two out hit in the inning which scored two runs. Mike Wagner pitched a great game!  
Mon 05/08 4:00PMChatham H Lost 8-2 The Summit JV Baseball team lost to Chatham in 10 innings today. Matt Carbone who just returned to the team after being injured early in the year had a big hit for Summit. Mike Wagner made some unbelievable catches in center field, and Fred Westphalen also had a solid defensive game behind the plate. Kevin McAvey pitched a great 7 innings allowing only 2 runs.  
Wed 05/10 4:00PMMendham A Won 11-10 The Summit JV Baseball team beat Mendham for the 2nd time this season in a wild game. Dave Reynolds pitched a solid five innings and Fred Westphalen came out from behind the plate to pitch the final two. John Tolve had two successful sacrifice bunts which both scored Kevin McAvee.  
Thu 05/11 4:00PMHanover Park H Lost 14-0.

 

Mon 05/15 4:00PMParsippany A Won 11-0 The Summit JV Baseball team shut out Parsippany. Kevin McAvey pitched a great game only allowing 2 hits. Mike Wagner, Peter Novo, Fred Westphalen, and Sean Ruane all had two hits. Summit improved their record to 11-8-1.  
Wed 05/17 4:00PM New Providence Lost 8-1 John Tolve drove in the only run for Summit
Thu 05/18 4:00PM West Essex Lost 4-3 Mike Wagner pitched a great game. John Tolve went 2 for 3. Peter Novo made an outstanding catch in Right Field. The team finished with a final record of 11-10-1. The Team would like to thank all the parents and fans who came out to support them this season.
