Jon Buscaino and Kevin Lackaye combined to pitch a come from behind victory. Buscaino pitched the first 4 innings allowing 2 earned runs and 6 hits and Lackaye pitched the final 3 innings. Parsippany took a 1 run lead in the 3rd inning via a single , a walk and a single. They added 3 more in the top of the 4th. Parsippany's 1st batter cracked to towering home run into left field. Buscaino retired the next two batters. The following batter hit a ground ball, that should have ended the inning, but it was mishandled. This was followed by a walk and a double that resulted in 2 unearned runs.
Summit came up in the 4th facing a 4-0 deficit. They rebounded by scoring twice on singles by Sam Rose, Sam Zerfoss and Tim Donnally. Summit tied the score in the bottom of the 5th. With 2 outs in the inning, Andrew Furman got the rally started with a single and Lackaye was safe on an error. A single by Rose drove in Furman and another single by Zerfoss allowed Lackaye to cross the plate. The winning runs came in the bottom of the 6th. Tim Donnally led off the inning with a single and Mark Shehata laid down a good sacrifice bunt to move Donnally into scoring position. Buscaino was hit by the pitcher and Eric Della Piazza stroked a double to dive in the go ahead runs. Furman was safe on an error and Della Piazza moved to 3rd. This set up the classic double steal. When the catcher threw down to 2nd to try to catch the runner from first, Della Piazza stole home. A single by Lackaye drove in Furman to complete the comeback victory.
