This was a very close game through the 1st 4 innings. Parsippany Hills picked up unearned runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings and Summit scored a run in the top of the 4th inning. Entering the bottom of the 5th the score stood 2-1 in favor of Parsippany Hills. To that point starter Tim Donnally had allowed only 4 hits and 2 unearned runs. Unfortunately, a walk, 3 singles and a wild pitch resulted in 3 Par Hills run. Given how stingy the Par Hills' pitcher was being, Summit entered the 6th inning in a big 5-1 hole. Summit went down 1-2-3 in the 6th.

Sam Zerfoss took over the pitching duties in the bottom of the 6th. A combination of a lead off walk, followed by a single and 2 consecutive Summit errors allowed 2 more runs to score. In the top of the 7th Pars Hills' starter got the first two batters out. At this point he had gotten the last 10 Summit batters out without allowing a base runner. The string ended when Mark Shehata singled and stole second. Bernie Grishman singled to drive in Shehata. However, the next batter struck out, looking, to end the game.

Summit's other run came in the 4th inning. Andrew Furman led off with a double and was driven home by Dan Weber's single.

Summit plays top seed Roselle Catholic in the Union County Tournament. The game will be played at 3PM at Warinanco Park, Field #3
