Doubles: Buscainno(2),Lackaye(1)
Triples: Della Piazza(1) |
Weequahic's 's first batter smacked the third pitch over the left field fence. This wasn't the way a game with Weequahic was supposed to begin. The next batter cracked a single and the Summit fans began to worry. However, pitcher Sam Zerfoss took command of the situation. He got the next 15 outs while allowing no more hits and only 3 base runners. The game ended after 5 innings under the "10 run" rule.
Recognizing that the opponent was Weequahic, still, Summit played much better baseball than in the season opener. They were flawless on defense and hit the ball well.
Jon Buscaino went 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and Eric Della Piazza picked up the first triple of the season.
