Trailing 8-0, Summit put on a furuios rally in the bottom of the 7th. Summit scored 6 runs and had the tieing runs on 2nd and third before West Essex got the final out. The big inning started with a Kevin Lackaye single. Dan Weber followed with another single and Sam Zerfoss added a one out double and the score was 8-2. A single by Bernie Grishman scored Zerfoss and Grishman moved to 2nd. A single by Jon Buscaino score Grishman and suddenly it is 8-4. After a 2nd out Sam Rose was walked. Andrew Furman hit a sharp grounder to 3rd but the 3rd baseman threw high to 1st and another run scored. Having batted around, Lackaye delivered his 2nd single of the inning to score Rose and move Furman to 3rd. With the score now 8-6 WE managed to get the next batter to strikeout. Thus ending the inning and the season for Summit. |
