Evan Chang was Summit's starting pitcher and allowed two runs over five innings with six strikeouts. Chang was followed by Tim Kane who finished out the seven-inning game. Strong pitching by Morris Hills overcame Summit scoring opportunities and lead to the shutout loss.
Mon 04/10 12:30PMDover H Won 14-4 Exploding for 14 runs, Summit posted its first season victory defeating Dover 14-4 in five innings at Memorial Field. The hitting attack was lead by Eddie Hagan and supported by Tim Kane, Evan Chang, J.P. Dougherty, Tim Cotter, Tommy Casey and Tim Spangler. Solid fielding, including a key defensive play by Summit shortstop Evan Chang throwing out a runner to catcher, J.P. Dougherty at home plate, helped Summit maintain an early lead. Summit broke the game open in the fourth inning. Tim Cotter was Summit's starting pitcher, going three and two-thirds innings. Tommy Casey finished the pitching duties in relief."
Tue 04/11 4:00PMParsippany Hills A Lost 6-5  "We gave this one away" is the epitaph to Summit's disappointing loss to Parsippany Hills. Despite gaining an early lead on the hitting of Tim Spangler, Eddie Hagan, Eric Forsell and Evan Chang, errors and mental mistakes resulting in five unearned runs allowed Parsippany Hills back in the game and to eventually win it in the bottom of the seventh innning. Going the distance, Summit pitcher Evan Chang turned in another fine pitching performance allowing one earned run over seven innings."
Sat 04/15 10:00AMGovernor Livingston H Won 11-10. Winning a nail-biter in extra innings, Summit edged Governor Livingston. Summit scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a lead-off single by J.P. Dougherty who scored on Eric Forsell' s game-winning line drive smash over the right fielder. Summit's runs were generated on the hitting of Tim Kane, Tim Spangler, J.P. Dougherty, Tim Cotter, Eric Forsell and Tommy Casey. Solid pitching was provided by starter Tim Kane with Tommy Casey and Tim Spangler in relief. The steady middle infield combination of Evan Chang (SS) and Eddie Hagan (2B) anchored the defense. Mon 04/17 4:00PMChatham H Won 11-1. Timely hitting, good fielding and superb pitching marked Summit's five-inning spanking of rival Chatham. Hitting and fielding by the entire team - Jeff Beamer, Tim Brown, Tommy Casey, Tim Cotter, J.P. Dougherty, Eric Forsell, Eddie Hagan, Kevin Johnson, Tim Kane, Greg Lasaracino, Michael McLean, Brencis Navia and Tim Spangler - supported pitcher Evan Chang's complete game win. Tossing strikes, Chang allowed just 4 hits, struck out 4, and gave up only 2 walks. The lone Chatham run was unearned. Catcher J.P. Dougherty made a key defensive play throwing out a runner at second. (reporting by Christopher Chang)
Wed 04/19 4:00PMMendham A Won 14-9. In a hitting barrage, Summit handed traditional powerhouse Mendham a 14-9 defeat. Leading the charge was Tim Spangler, pitching into the fourth inning and hitting a two-run homer. Eddie Hagan and Eric Forsell supplied three hits each in the charge and Tim Kane added two hits. Spangler was relieved by Tommy Casey and Tim Cotter to close out the win. (reporting by Christopher Chang) 
Thu 04/20 4:00PMWest Essex A Won 11-5. In a three-hour marathon, Summit outdistanced West Essex 11-5. Walks and timely hitting by the "three Tims" -- Tim Kane, Tim Spangler, Tim Cotter -- and Eric Forsell accounted by Summit's 11 runs. Making his pitching debut, Eddie Hagan went five innings to get the win. Relief pitching by Tim Kane and a fine defensive play by shortstop Evan Chang in the top of the seventh inning helped seal the win. Catcher J.P. Dougherty turned in another fine performance behind plate and Jeff Beamer filled in nicely at first base after Eric Forsell had to leave the game with a slight injury. With a 5-2 record at the one-third mark of the season, Coach Leroy Horn has done a fine job developing all facets of Summit's game.(reporting by Christopher Chang) 
Fri 04/21 4:00PMHanover Park H Lost 8-4. Finishing a four-game week, Summit fought gamely in an 8-4 loss to powerhouse Hanover Park. A four-run second inning by Hanover Park and a missed scoring opportunity by Summit in the fourth inning was the difference. Evan Chang was on the mound for Summit for all seven innings. Team managers Chris Archer, Paul Gunther and Matt Seskin have been a huge asset to this winning team.(reporting by Christopher Chang) 
Wed 04/26 4:00PMMorris Hills A Lost 3-1. Seeking to avenge its opening day loss, Summit came up short against Morris Hills losing 3-1. Summit missed a golden opportunity in the top of the sixth inning when with runners on second and third and no outs and the score 2-1, it could not drive in any runs. Summit's Tim Spangler had a fine overall performance pitching all seven innings and providing two hits. Eric Forsell drove in Summit's only run. (reporting by Christopher Chang)  
Thu 04/27 4:00PM Parsippany Won 12-1. Bouncing back with a 14-hit attack, Summit overwhelmed Parsippany 12-1 in six innings. Going ahead 3-0 in the first inning following a RBI double by Eddie Hagan to drive in Tim Kane and then a two-run homer by Tim Spangler, Summit never looked back. Eric Forsell continued his hot-hitting going four for four. J.P. Dougherty, Michael McLean and Jeff Beamer balanced out the hitting attack. Greg Lasaracino got his first hit of the season. Tim Kane got the win as the starting pitcher with Eddie Hagan in relief.(reporting by Christopher Chang)

Sat 04/29 10:00AMNorth Plainfield H Won 5-4. Closing out the first half of its season, Summit won 5-4 over North Plainfield. Losing 4-0 in the fourth inning, Summit came back and went ahead in the bottom of the fifth on Eddie Hagan's RBI double. J.P. Dougherty started at pitcher for Summit with Eddie Hagan in relief who struck out the side in the top of the seventh with runners on second and third to close out the game and get the win. Brencis Navia went 1 for 2 laying down a text-book bunt down the third base line and scoring a run. (reporting by Christopher Chang)

Tue 05/02 4:00PMScotch Plains H Lost 10-9. Fighting tenaciously over seven innnings, Summit lost to hard hitting Scotch Plains-Fanwood 10-9 at Memorial Field. Despite a four-run first innning by SPF, Summit stayed in the hunt and eventually took a 9-8 lead on a five-run rally in the bottom of the fifth. SPF, however, came back to score two runs in the top of the sixth and its relief pitching kept Summit scoreless to close out the win. Tim Kane provided effective long middle-relief pitching. Tim Spangler and Eric Forsell continued their hot hitting with two hits each and Michael McLean added a RBI double. The influence of catcher J.P. Dougherty behind the plate, combined with the continued steady middle-infield play of shortstop Evan Chang and second baseman Eddie Hagan and a fine defensive play by third baseman Tim Cotter late in the game, helped to keep Summit close to the end.  (reporting by Christopher Chang)

Jumping to an early 3-1 lead on a three-run blast by centerfielder Tim Spangler in the bottom of the first inning, Summit defeated Parsippany Hills 8-6 at Memorial Field. Closing out the game in five innings because of a delayed start, pitcher Evan Chang kept Summit ahead the entire game and notched his fourth complete game of the season. Additional run support was provided by Eddie Hagan, Eric Forsell, J.P. Dougherty, Tim Cotter and Michael McLean. With two-thirds of the season completed, Summit is looking to make a run in its remaining seven games to finish out  (reporting by Christopher Chang)
Mon 05/08 4:00PMChatham A Won 7-6. Completing a season sweep of conference rival Chatham, Summit won at Chatham. Summit pitcher Eddie Hagan provided the pitching over seven innings and nailed his first complete game win. Despite an early lead on a first inning, two-run double by Evan Chang, Summit fell behind mid-way through the game 6-2. Summit, however, stayed focused and on hitting provided by Tim Spangler, Tim Cotter and Michael McLean clawed back and took the lead in the sixth. Outstanding fielding by second baseman Tim Kane and first baseman Eric Forsell in the last two innings of the game and the continued steady play of catcher J.P. Wed 05/10 4:00PMMendham H Lost 17-6. There were no bright spots in this seven-inning loss to Mendham at Memorial Field. Despite awful fielding, Summit remained in the game until Mendham broke it open in the top of the seventh inning getting seven runs on dreadful pitching. Overall, it appeared that Summit did not come mentally ready to play today's game. As Yogi Berra said: "Baseball is 90% mental; the other half is physical." (reporting by Christopher Chang)  
Thu 05/13 4:00PMHanover Park A Won 8-7. Stellar fielding and pitching by Summit were on display in this tight win over first-place Hanover Park on the road. Fine defensive plays by Summit throughout the game were made: first baseman Eddie Hagan's scoop catch at the tail-end of a 1-6-3 double play started by pitcher Tim Spangler to shortstop Evan Chang at second base; several running catches by center fielder Tim Kane; a diving catch by right fielder Michael McLean late in the game; and a play by third baseman Tim Cotter for the final out. Pitcher Tim Spangler had all his pitches working for seven innings and got his first complete game win. Hitting and runs were supplied by Eddie Hagan and Evan Chang who was perfect at the plate, going four-for-four and drawing a walk on his fifth at-bat. After yesterday's disappointing loss to Mendham, today's win was an impressive effort against a very good Hanover Park team.(reporting by Christopher Chang)  
Sat 05/13 11:00AMElizabeth H Won 10-7. Grabbing an early 8-2 lead, Summit hung on to close out the win. Chipping away, Elizabeth made it an 8-7 game by the top of the sixth inning. Summit, however, scored two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth on hitting provided by Evan Chang and Greg Lasaracino. Summit ended the game in the top of the seventh inning on a 4-6-3 double play by Tim Kane (2B), Evan Chang (SS) and Eric Forsell (1B). Pitcher Eddie Hagan battled tough the entire game and got his second complete game win.

Wed 05/17 4:00PMNew Providence H Won 18-2. Summit overwhelmed area rival New Providence in five innings. At the end of the first inning, the score was 10-0. Pitcher Tim Kane went all five innings and got his first complete game win.
Thu 05/18 4:00PM West Essex Won 8-7. Summit prevailed in a testy contest with West Essex at Summit High School. A collision between Summit pitcher Evan Chang and a West Essex baserunner in the top of the first inning set the tone of the game. In the bottom of the first inning, Summit answered with six runs on a West Essex error and timely hitting by Tim Cotter and Jeff Beamer and never relinquished the lead. Eddie Hagan replaced Chang at pitcher following the collision and battling a carping West Essex bench throughout the game hung tough to get the win for Summit.
