On Summit's 1st play of the game Chatham intercepted the pass and returned it to the 25 yard line. Two plays later Chatham was up 7-0. Summit's responded with its only drive of the game, taking the ball from the Summit 31 to the Chatham 15 before Edgar Ozols was sacked to end the threat.

O'Sullivan's 63 yard return gave Summit the Ball at the Chatham 17. However, 8 plays later the opportunity ended in another sack. Summit was never again to have the ball in Chatham territory.
