This game got off on the wrong foot when Hanover Park intercepted a Summit pass on the 3rd play of the game to give them the ball at the Summit 29 yard line. Five plays later Summit was down 6-0. Ultimately, Hanover Park was to intercept 4 Summit passes. In a typical high school football game each team gets about 10 possessions. Teminating 4 of those 10 possessions with turnovers is a difficult obstacle to overcome. Summit's only serious scoring threat of the 1st half came at the beginning of the 2nd quarter when they drove to the Hanover Park 19 before the drive stalled. The highlight of the drive was a 37 yard pass play from Scott O'Sullivan to Kevin Feeney. Hanover Park then started from their 19 yard line and moved 81 yards in 11 plays to take a 12-0 at the end of the 1st half.

Hanover Park took the 2nd half kickoff and moved 80 yards to make the score 18-0. The highlight of the game for Summit came early in the 4th quarter. On 2nd and 3 Will Gruetzmacher swept the left side and ran 73 yards to score , giving some much needed momentum for Summit. Summit regained the ball when James Johnson made his second interception of the game. Summit went from their 31 yard line to the Hanover Park 26 primarily on the strenght of pass receptions by Sam Rose (20 yards), David Roduit (9 yards), Feeney (5 yards) and Johnson (9 yards). The opportunity was ended by the last of Hanover Parks 4 interceptions.
