Summit's new artificial turf field was christened on a day of heavy rain. While the field was huge success, the game was a disappointment for the Summit fans. The first half was dominated by the defense with each team having only one serious scoring opportunity. On Parsippany Hills' third possession they returned a punt to the Summit 38 yard line. A pass gave them a 1st down on the 16. The threat was ended by two consecutive monster sacks by Shabazz Green that moved Parsippany Hills back to the 40 yard line and forced a punt. Late in the half Summit started a drive on their 48. An Edgar Ozols Pass to Kevin Feeney put Summit in Parsippany Hills territory for the first time at their 48. Ozols ran to the 43 and Feeney ripped through a nice hole to give Summit a 1st down at the Parsippany Hills 30. A 5 yard. gain by Ozols and a reception by James Johnson put the ball at the 11, but time was running out. Will Gruetzmacher kicked a 28 yard field goal and the half ended with Summit up 3-0.

On Parsippany Hills' first possession of the second half they returned a punt to the Summit 35. Summit's rushing defense was stingy but with 4th and 3 Par Hills just picked up the first down at the 24. A pass completion gave Par Hills a 1st down at Summit's 1 yard line. The Summit defense stopped them three times at the 1, but Parsippany Hills punched it through on the 4th try. Summit came right back with a drive that started on their 21 and got to a 1st and 10 at the Par Hill 35. The drive was highlighted by a 12 yard receptions by Scott O'Sullivan and Johnson, plus 15 yard penalty against Parsippany Hills. A 4th down pass attempt ended by a sack. That was the last time Summit would be in Parsippany Hills end of the field.

Parsippany Hills put the game out of reach with a late touchdown that was made possible by a questionable pass interference call against Summit on a 4th and 10 situation.
