Another heartbreaking finish turned victory into a loss. Summit had led from the start, sometimes by as much as 8 points. Starting the 2nd half Summit was in command with a 24-17 advantage. But in the 2nd half Summit was plagued by turnovers and Chatham slowly chipped away at the lead, reducing it to 2 points starting the 4th quarter. With 57 seconds left Chatham took their first lead at 41-40. Summit scored a FG but a free throw by Chatham tied the score at 42-42 with 16 seconds left. Summit took possession planning to hold for the last shot, but got trapped in corner and had to use its last time out with 6 seconds remaining. Unfortunately, Chatham intercepted the inbound pass and was fouled driving for a layup at the 2 second mark. Chatham missed the first free throw but made the 2nd to win the game. Summit rolled to a 13-5 start in the 1st quarter led by Travis Marchell's 6 points. Summit had the ball with 30 seconds left in the quarter. Instead of holding for the final shot as planned, an early shot missed and Chatham got off a 3-pointer. A possible 10 point lead was cut to 5. Summit grew the lead to 7 points at the half, paced by 5 points each from Marchell and Chris Kehoe. Starting the 4th quarter Kehoe scored Summit's first 5 points to increase the lead to 3 points. Chatham hit a 3-pointer at the 3 minute mark to tie the score, and Marchell answered with a 3-pointer to make the score 40-37. After Chatham had taken a 41-40 lead, Tim Donnally scored to put Summit back on top 42-41 with 47 seconds on the clock. But it wouldn't be enough.
Marchell and Kehoe led the Summit scoring with 14 and 10 points respectively. Josh Sussman led the rebounding with 13. Summit dominated the boards in the first half by garnering 21 rebounds but the second half was a different story as they managed only 12.
