Summit rolled to an easy victory over Dover. It was a balanced team effort as every quarter was characterized by having 5 players involved in the scoring. Travis Marchell led the 1st quarter with 7 points, Ryan Calhoun led the 2nd with 5 points and James Johnson led the 3rd and 4th with 7 and 6 respectively.
The first half featured a terrific defensive effort that resulted in more that 10 steals, many leading directly to baskets. Summit built a 32-16 lead at the half and the lead widened to 22 points by the end of the 3rd quarter. The final score made the game look closer than it really was, primarily because Dover's #22 hit 5 of 6 3-point tries in the final quarter. This after he was scoreless in the 1st half.
Johnson, Josh Sussman and Marchell all finished in double digits with 19, 13 and 11 points respectively. Tim Donnally was the rebounder with six. The number of rebounds was limited by the fact that Summit stole the ball so many times before Dover ever got a shot off.
Summit now needs to win 3 of the next 4 game to make the state tournament.
