If you just looked at the final score you would be tempted to think this was an easy victory but you would be wrong. Through the first three quarters Summit would open a 6to 8 point lead and Morris Hills would battle back to close the gap. With only a couple of minutes left in the 3rd quarter Summit led by a single point (35-34). Two baskets at the end of the quarter left Summit on top 39-34. Summit scoring virtually exploded in the 4th quarter to put the game away. In the final quarter six players contributed points, but James Johnson led the parade with 11 points.
Summit took an 16-11 lead in the 1st quarter as Johnson scored 8 and Travis Marchell had 5. Sophomore Chris Kehoe led the 2nd quarter, scoring 7 of the 14 points. Josh Sussman hauled down 8 rebounds
Summit now needs to win two of the next three games to qualify for the State Tournament. Thursday's Weequahic game will be at the Carver Middle School, with the varsity at 4PM.
