Summit handed Parsippany Hills its first defeat of the season in a very close game. For the first time this season Summit's free throw shooting was strong and played a major role in the victory. Summit took a 14-11 lead in the 1st quarter as Travis Marchell and James Johnson each scored 7 points. Parsippany Hills bounced back in the 2nd quarter and ended the half leading by 4 points.
Summit put on some tough defense in the 3rd quarter and regained the lead at 37-34. The 4th quarter opened with Parsippany Hills outscoring Summit 6-2 to go ahead 41-39. Marschell scored to tie the score with about 4 minutes to go. Chris Kehoe knocked down a 3-pointer and followed up with 2 free throws to put Summit up by 5. However, Parsippany Hills came back with 4 points to close to within 1 point with 55 seconds left. Parsippany Hills was forced to foul and Johnson rose to the ocassion by hitting 4 of 4 free throws. Marschell added the final point from the free throw line.
