Summit rolled to an easy victory over Parsippany, breaking a 3 game losing streak. Summit outscored Parsippany in every quarter. Travis Marchell got things started by scoring Summit's first 7 points and pacing the Hilltoppers to an 11-5 lead. Summit grew the lead to 28-16 at the half behind very balanced scoring where 5 players contribute points.
The 2nd half was more of the same as Summit pulled away. James Johnson had 10 of his game leading 14 in the 2nd half. Marchell finished with 11 points and Josh Sussman was also in double digits with 10 points. Sussman and Tim Donnally were the top rebounders with 8 and 7 respectively.
Summit faces a very difficult task to qualify for the State Tournament. There are 5 games left on the schedule before the cutoff date of Feb.3rd. That means Summit must win 4 of its next 5 games. The 5 games are with Dover, Morris Hills, Weequahic, West Essex and Dover. Tough but very possible.
