Summit seemed to have the game completely under control going in to the 4th quarter, leading by 11 points. With only 2:36 left in the game the margin was 12 points (58-46). Unfortunately, Summit got sloppy and turned the ball over on 4 successive possessions and Roselle Park scored 8 unanswered points. Suddenly a comfortable lead was cut to 4 points with :26 seconds still on the clock. However, Summit hung on to win. Summit started well and took a 17-10 lead behind James Johnson's 8 points and Chris Kehoe's 7 points. Mid-way through the 2nd quarter the lead was 10, but Summit let Roselle Park back in to the game as Rosellle Park went on a 9-2 run. Summit had a great 3rd quarter as each of the starters scored. Kehoe hit for three 3-pointers and Johnson had one trey and a deuce. That set up Summit with its 11 point lead starting the final quarter. Johnson wound up with his personal best , 27 points. Sophomore Kehoe delivered 18 points, for his 3rd consecutive game of 17 or more points. Summit had a season high 9 3-pointers, 5 by Johnson and 4 by Kehoe. Tim Donnally had a great defensive performance with 7 rebounds. Summit outscored Roselle Park 55-41 from the field, but Roselle Park stayed in the game by hitting 13 of 19 shots from the foul line, while Summit was 3 of 4.
