Summit’s Lady Hilltoppers took the road to Chatham for a big test on how far the program has come. And for three out of four quarters it was obvious how the program has made great strides, as Summit took everything Chatham could throw at them and beat them for three quarters. But the one bad quarter that the Hilltoppers can't seem to avoid did them in. Danielle Scott had another monster game, opening the first quarter with 11 points as she was unstoppable inside. But Chatham made some defensive adjustments and shut Scott out in the second quarter, as they outscored Summit 11-5 which proved to be decisive. Getting much better balance in the third quarter, Summit began their comeback, led by Renee Freeden with 4, Megan Osmulski with 3, and Katelyn Allocco with 2. Everyone played tighter defense, and Summit trailed by 5 entering the fourth quarter. Jamie Osmulski and Danielle Scott led the charge in the fourth, but good shooting by Chatham and some questionable foul calls did Summit in.
JV Game

Lost 44-38 Traveling to a hostile venue, the JV Lady Hilltoppers played a tough three quarters against a fired up Chatham squad. Summit started strong and took an 11-9 lead in the first quarter on some great inside work by Candy Marchell and outside shooting from Danielle Allocco. But Chatham stiffened on defense and closed to within 2 at half. Some good inside rebounding by Shannon Murphy and some great steals and assists by Alex Reid kept Summit evenly matched in a tough third quarter, which ended 26-26. Chatham held Marchell down in the second half, but Jenna Wilson had a great second half for Summit, scoring 6 points and helping break Chatham’s press. But it wasn’t enough. Their hopes for an undefeated season went down on some great shooting by Chatham and some questionable foul calls in the fourth quarter as Summit got into foul trouble.
