Hanover Park entered the game with a 7-1 record and was heavily favored. HP quickly took a 14-11 lead by the end of the 1st quarter. Summit came storming back in the 2nd quarter, outscoring HP 16-6 and ending the half ahead by 7 points. Hanover Park managed to cut Summit's lead to 5 points by the start of the 4th quarter. But Summit outscored Hanover Park 18-10 with the help of Danielle Scott's 7 of 8 performance for the foul line.

Renee Freeden led Summit's first half with 10 points and added 10 more after halftime to lead all Summit scorers. Scott was close behind 19 points.


JV Game

Won 52-39 Displaying terrific team scoring balance and solid all around play, the Summit JV Lady Hilltoppers faced a tough Hanover Park team and came away with a decisive victory. All 9 players scored against Hanover Park, led by Melissa Scott with 9 and 8 each from Danielle Allocco, Shannon Murphy and Candy Marchell. Summit raced to their usual first quarter lead, 12-4 at the end of the quarter. But Summit uncharacteristically broke down defensively in the second quarter and allowed HP to catch up at half, where Summit had a 26-19 lead. The third quarter showed Summit’s usual defensive tenacity, with Deanna Nelson and Alex Reid recording steals and buckets, and Colleen Laughlin contributing a field goal and free throw, as Summit widened the lead to 37-25 at the end of three. HP tried to make a run, but six girls scored in the fourth quarter to thwart any comeback attempt. Jenna Wilson and Abby Mell completed the scoring for Summit, which ran its record to 9-0
