Summit advanced to the final round of the Millburn tournament with a 40-31 victory against a quick and scrappy North Plainfield team. Summit started out strong with two quick baskets by Jamie Osmulski and a great three pointer by her sister Megan Osmulski, and with the rest of the starters scoring, raced to a 12-3 first quarter lead. North Plainfield responded by running the floor on breaks and catching Summit on advantages, and only a solid quarter by Danielle Scott kept Summit in the lead. In the second half Summit used its height advantage to good use, with Renee Freeden and Scott pounding the glass on both ends, contributing game high 10 points and ten rebounds apiece, which led to a 28-21 lead going into the final quarter. North Plainfield came out hard in the fourth quarter and cut the lead to 5, but a monster quarter by Katelyn Allocco, who had 6 points, 2 rebounds and broke the press numerous times, extended Summit’s lead. Jamie Osmulski finished it off hitting 3 clutch free throws for the final margin of victory.

Summit will meet Gov. Livingston in the finals on Thursday 6PM (I think?)
