Lost 53-59 In a heartbreaking overtime loss, the Varsity Lady Hilltoppers succumbed in overtime 59-53 to a hot shooting Parsippany Hills squad. The game was tight throughout, with no lead safe as the teams battled from start to finish. Summit relied on the inside scoring of Danielle Scott with 15 points and Renee Freeden with 10 for much of their scoring, and Par Hills relied on the outside shooting of their freshman guard, who lit it up for 23 points. The fourth quarter was action packed, as Parsippany Hills came out more aggressive and quicker than summit to take a 4 point lead with a 7-0 run, only to have Summit claw back, due to a three pointer by Megan Osmulski and some good inside penetration by Katelyn Allocco who finished with 10. Trailing by 2 with under a minute to go, Summit employed a foul and then score strategy to perfection as Allocco and Freeden got late baskets to forge a 49-49 tie at the end of regulation. But in the overtime the deft shooting and ball handling of Parsippany was too much, and they hit 6 for 6 from the foul line in the period to seal the victory.
