The Varsity Lady Hilltoppers bounced back from a tough last week to overpower Parsippany 40-30 in the last home game of the year. The first half was a defensive struggle, as Parsippany couldn't buy a hoop underneath and Summit missing from the outside. Some key buckets by Renee Freeden and Katelyn Allocco staked Summit to a 13-9 halftime lead. The third quarter saw the intensity ramp up, and a nice effort by Melissa Scott helped Summit to a 28-17 lead, which they quickly widened in the fourth quarter, as Senior Lauren Magness hit two impressive jumpers and Jenna Wilson hit a length of the court driving lay-up which saw Summit extended their lead to 34-17. But at that moment the tide turned and some unlucky turnovers caused by Parsippany's press closed the gap to 36-29. Megan Osmulski set some crushing picks to help break the press, and Alethia Martinez provided some senior ball handling to run some clock down. At the end some key buckets by Jamie Osmulski, who finished with a game high 11 points, and Katelyn Allocco who finished with 7, made the difference for a big win

JV Game

Won 42-24 The JV Lady Hilltoppers capped a terrific season with a resounding 42-24 win in front of the home crowd in Summit. The JV blew out to a 17-2 first quarter lead on the back of Deanna Nelson, who scored all 6 of her points in the quarter, and some timely baskets by Danielle Allocco and Shannon Murphy, who finished with a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds. But Parsippany inserted two players who are also on the varsity roster and the game took a decided turn, with the JV holding on for a 23-13 halftime lead. Some timely shooting by Claire Cummins and Abby Mell helped extend their lead, and solid rebounding by Candy Marchell who had 8 boards, kept Parsippany at bay. Alex Reid had a great game, with 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals to go with a game high 15 points, that helped widen the JV lead to the end. The turnaround in this program, led by Coach Isaac Welsh, has been remarkable, as the JV finished 19-2 this year.
