Fri 12/02 3:45PMSo. Brunswick @USA Won 6-4. After being down 1-0, Jason Bell knotted the score in the first period. Down 2-1 after two periods, Brendan Gallinek tied the score and Rob Hillenbrand hit the net shortly after for a 3-2 Summit lead. Gallinek converted two more times for the hat trick and Jake Grabowski added an empty net goal, adding to his 4 assists, for Summit in their season opener. Tue 12/06 6:00PMMendham-CronTournament W Lost 4-1. The Hilltoppers skated well, but did not convert on any scoring chances while goalie Doug Vreeland shut the door on Mendham in the first period. Mendham took the lead 1-0 and Summit answered as Brian Smith dropped the puck to Jason Bell who sent a pass to Jake Grabowski making the score 1-1 through two periods. Mendham tallied three times in the third to defeat the Hilltoppers. Gallery of pictures
Thu 12/08 TBAWestfield CronTournament W Lost 7-4. Westfield took a 3-0 lead in the first before Dan Weber scored an unassisted goal to close the gap. During a second period power play, Brian Smith scored off a Jake Grabowski assist and Brendan Gallinek tied the score off a feed from Grabowski and Jason Bell. Westfield scored three unanswered goals to take a 6-3 lead until Grabowski scored of a Bell and Jamie Stack feed. Doug Vreeland had 24 saves in net for the Hilltoppers. Gallery of pictures
Tue 12/13 6:00PMJohnson CronTournament W Won 5-1. Sam Kenyon started the scoring by converting off a feed from Andrew Zackoff and Dan Weber. Kenyon added another tally 26 seconds later for a 2-0 Hilltopper lead. Jason Bell pushed in a rebound to make the score 3-0 after one period of play. Johnson scored once in the second period only to have Jake Grabowski score from the point on a Brian Smith feed. Later, Grabowski scored again off an assist from Brendan Gallinek. Gallinek and Zackoff both registered two assists while Doug Vreeland had 14 saves in goal for the Hilltoppers. 
Fri 12/16 3:45PMWestfield USA Tie 3-3. The Hilltoppers forged a two goal lead on scores by Brian Smith and Jake Grabowski. Westfield rallied for three scores to take the lead. Summit could not take advantage of any of their 35 shots on goal in the game until 2:51 left in the third period. Down 3-2, Jamie Stack skated behind the net and spotted Sam Kenyon in the high slot who hit the net to tie the game. Doug Vreeland stopped 18 shots for the Hilltoppers. 
Tue 12/20 6:OOPMClifton W Lost 8-1. The Hilltoppers skated evenly in the first period but fell behind on two break away goals. Jake Grabowski avoided the shutout in the third period with a wrist shot past the goalie. 
Fri 12/23 3:45PMA L Johnson USA A Won 7-2. Summit outskated Johnson in the first period as Eamon Troy and Jason Bell set up a Jake Grabowski goal. Sam Kenyon converted off a Troy and Jamie Stack feed to make the score 2-0. The next tally illustrated the pure Hilltopper teamwork as Bell blocked a Johnson slap shot which painfully bounced off his leg to Grabowski who sent a feed to Scott Garibaldi for the 3-0 lead. Before Garibaldi finished his shift, he converted for his second goal of the game off a Granger Jewett assist making the score 4-0. Johnson added a score in the second and late in the period Grabowski wristed a shot past the goalie for a 5-1 lead. Bell stripped the opponent of the puck and finished a breakaway for a 6-2 Hilltopper lead. Late in the period, Stack closed out the scoring with his first career goal on a wrist shot from the blue line. Troy and Bell both registered four assists in a game that illustrated the Hilltopper passing and teamwork. Rob Hillenbrand provided a spark for a shortened defensive bench and Doug Vreeland made some key saves in goal. 
Tue 01/03 6:OOPMMontclair Kimberrly W Lost 3-2. In a game full of momentum changes, the Hilltoppers opened the scoring when Eamon Troy pushed a pass forward to Jake Grabowski who in turn sent a long pass to Jason Bell for a one time shot and 1-0 lead. MKA answered with two goals and a 3-1 lead. Late in the third period, Summit mounted a frenetic effort to get back into the game which was capped by Troy hammering in a loose puck. 
Wed 01/04 4:OOPMSo. Brunswick @Pro Skate A Won 4-3. Eamon Troy opened up a 1-0 lead for Summit in the first period in a closely battled game. Sam Kenyon's hard work, culminating in a goal which added to the lead, before South Brunswick closed the gap to 2-1. Again, Kenyon scored to make the score 3-1, only to have South Brunswick score twice to tie the game. Kenyon scored the hat trick off a Scott Garibaldi rebound for the game winner with 17 seconds left in the second period. Doug Vreeland had 22 saves and Brian Smith had a strong defensive effort.  
Sat 01/07 7:OOPMVerona @So. Mtn. A Lost 2-1 Summit forged a 1-0 lead when Eamon Troy tipped a Jamie Stack shot from the point in the first period. Verona rallied for two scores in the second period to drop the Hilltoppers. 
Tue 01/10 TBAMontgomery @Ice Land A Lost 6-2. Summit fell behind 4-0 in the first period to a fast skating Montgomery team. The Hilltoppers played better in the second period as they set up a power play goal by Jake Grabowski. Montgomery answered with two scores. The third period was evenly matched as a late score by Grabowski closed the gap to 6-2. Doug Vreeland played well in goal for the Hilltoppers. 
Fri 01/13 3:45PMCranford @USA Won 4-3 Eamon Troy put Summit on top off an assist by Jason Bell in the first period. In the second period, Cranford tied the score on a penalty shot and subsequently added two scores for a 3-1 lead. The Hilltoppers called a time out with 6:00 left in the game looking for a player to step forward and start the rally. Jake Grabowski started with a center ice body check followed by aggressive fore checking by Rob Hillenbrand, who set up Bell for a goal. Less than a minute later, Brian Smith set up Sam Kenyon who rifled a shot inside the post to bring the score to 3-3. The Hilltoppers worked their power play and as a result, Granger Jewett found Troy who passed to Bell for the game winner with 3:27 remaining in the game.
Tue 01/17 6:OOPMWatchung Hills W Lost 12-2. The Hilltoppers fell behind 4-0 before Jake Grabowski along with a team effort knocked in a rebound. With the score 7-1 after two periods, Summit got one goal back as Brenden Gallinek, fresh off the disabled list, hit the net. Brian Hurley made some great saves in the net. 
Thu 01/19 3:345PMChatham W Lost 3-1. Summit answered the challenge against a top ranked public school team. They skated relentlessly in a fast paced game but found themselves down 2-0. Doug Vreeland was stellar in net and made several point blank saves to keep Summit in the game. In the second period, as Chatham fell back on their heels, Eamon Troy converted a pass from Brenden Gallinek and Jake Grabowski to cut the lead in half. The Hilltoppers continued the pressure throughout the third period but fell short as Chatham scored late in the period. Vreeland had 31 saves and Granger Jewett, Jamie Stack and Brian Smith were defensive stalwarts 
Sat 01/21 8:15PMBernards @Bridgewater A Won 9-2 Jake Grabowski put Summit on top early as he converted a pass from Eamon Troy. Scott Garibaldi hit the net off an Andrew Zackoff feed and later Zackoff hit the net, assisted by Sam Kenyon. Kenyon tallied to make the score 4-0 after one period. The Hilltoppers added three more scores in the second period, credited to Troy, Garibaldi and Grabowski. Summit used a long bench in the third period where Grabowski added his fourth goal of the game.
Wed 01/25 5:00PMWatchung Hills USA A Lost 5-3 Brendan Gallinek scored twice put Summit down only 1 goal entering the 3rd period (3-2). Seven minutes into 3rd period Jason Bell scored to even the score. Unfortunately, Watchung Hills scored on a power play to retake the lead for good.

Lost 5-2. Summit fell behind Montclair Kimberly 4-0, before Eamon Troy knocked in a rebound in front of the net with help from Brenden Gallinek and Jake Grabowski. The Hilltoppers added another score as Sam Kenyon converted on a breakaway goal to bring the score to 4-2. That wasn't enough as their opponent added a final score to drop Summit, by the score 5-2. 
Tue 01/31 6:OOPMMontgomery W Lost 4-0 Summit skated evenly against Montgomery in the first seven minutes before they fell behind 2-0. The Hilltoppers were unsuccessful at making a comeback. Doug Vreeland had 43 saves in goal for Summit.
Wed 02/01 8:30PMWestfield W Tie 2-2 Sam Kenyon scored late in the 2nd period to tie the score at 2-2. Jake Grabowski scored Summit Summit's first goal. This was Summit second tie with Westfield after an early season loss to the Blue Devils  
Fri 02/03 3:45PM Hudson Cath. USA A Won 2-0 Sam Kenyon scored early to stake Summit to a 1-0 lead. Jake Grabowski provided the insurance goal in the 3rd period. Doug Vreeland turned away 15 shots to gain the shutout.
Tue 02/07 6:OOPMBernards W Won 12-4 Summit dominated the ice as Jake Grabowski, Brenden Gallinek, Jason Bell and Eamon Troy scored two goals a piece and Granger Jewett (first career goal), Dan Weber,Sam Kenyon and Andrew Zackoff hit for one goal each. Assists were recorded by Grabowski (4), Gallinek (3),Bell (2) and Kenyon (2) and Jamie Stack, Rob Hillenbrand, Weber, Jewett,Troy and Zackoff. Doug Vreeland and Brian Curley split the time in net for the Hilltoppers. 
Tue 02/14 6:00PMWest Orange W Won 9-1. Brian Smith took a pass from Jake Grabowski, rushed the puck from the red line and hit the net to open the scoring for Summit. Brendan Gallinek converted off of two crisp passes from Jason Bell and Grabowski to round out the scoring in the first period. The Hilltoppers were dominant as Sam Kenyon, Sam Evans (first career goal), Grabowski (2 goals), Andrew Zackoff, Scott Garibaldi and Eamon Troy scored goals. Jordan Ludwig registered an assist while Doug Vreeland and Brian Curley combined for 10 saves in goal for Summit. 
Thu 02/16 3:45PMMountain Lakes W Lost 6-1. Summit skated evenly with Mountain Lakes in the first period, but fell behind 1-0. Jake Grabowski cut in from the blue line and nailed a high shot to tie the contest at the end of the first period. The Hilltoppers fell behind and could not muster any additional offensive results. 
Fri 02/173:45PMWestfield Van Cott playoffs A USA Lost 6-3. Summit took the lead early in the first period as Brenden Gallinek scored. Westfield answered with two scores before Jake Grabowski hit the net to tie the contest. Grabowski hit again for a 3-2 Hilltopper lead after two periods. Unfortunately, Summit came out flat in the third period as Westfield rallied for four goals to eliminate the Hilltoppers from the Van Cott Tournament.
