Summit carried a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the 6th inning, but couldn't hold on for the victory. Dover got on the scoreboard first with a 1st inning run off starting pitcher Kevin McAvey. Summit came right back with 3 runs in the top of the 2nd. Sam Rose started the inning with a single and McAvey followed with another single moving Rose to 3rd. Tim Donnally picked up an RBI fielder's choice when the shortstop decided to try to catch Rose at home, and failed. A Single by Eddie Hagan drove in McAvey and another single by Marc Shahata plated Tim Donnally. Unfortunately, Dover answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to tie the score.

Summit broke the tie with a run in the top of the 6th. Donnally beat out an infield single and went to 2nd on a throwing error. Eric Della Piazza came in as a pinch hitter and nailed the first pitch for a single to drive in the go ahead run. Dover led off their 6th with a single. The runner went to second on a passed ball and was sacrificed to 3rd.. At this point McAvey had reached the 100 pitch mark and Kevin Lackaye came on in relief. The next batter cracked a double to tie the game. A strikeout made it 2 outs. The next Dover batter drove a deep fly ball. The fielder made a great effort and got to the ball, but it popped out of his glove and Dover's wining run crossed the plate.
