Summit played the strong Hanover Park even through the top of the 4th inning. The score stood 5-4 in favor of Hanover Park. Three of those five HP runs were unearned. Things came unglued in the bottom of the 5th as Summit fielding errors led to 5 runs, three of them unearned.
Summit scored in the 1st when Evan Chang drew a walk and Fred Westphalen and Sam Rose singled. Two more runs were added in the 3rd ining. Chang again drew a walk and Tim Spangler hit a home run. A solo home run by Kevin McAvey scored another run in the 4th inning. Summit's final run came when Pete Novo drew a walk and scored when Chang doubled.
