Summit's problem with leaving runner stranded on base continued. In the final 2 innings 6 runners were stranded. In the bottom of the 6th, with Summit down 5-0, Marc Shehata got a 2 out rally started with a walk. Kevin McAvey cracked a double to drive in one run. Tim Donnally and Ken Miller were walked to load the bases. Unfortunately, a strikeout ended the inning. In Summit's final inning things started looking pretty good. Evan Chang singled and Fred Westphalen drew a walk. Tim Spangler singled in Chang. Sam Rose drove a solid ball to left field, but it was tracked down for the 1st out, Shehata was safe on an error by the 1st baseman. Now the bases were loaded with only 1 out. However, the next two batters struck out to end the game. All told Summit left 12 runners stranded.

Tim Spangler was the starting pitcher and yielded 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings. Matt Carbone the final 3 2/3 innings, giving up 2 runs.
