Summit ran into a career best "Perfect Game" by Westfield's pitcher. Summit's ace, Kevin Lackaye, made it a good game through 4 innings. Westfield had picked up 3 runs in the 3rd inning although only one of the runs was earned. The other two resulted from a pair of Summit errors. Westfield broke the game open in the 5th inning with 3 runs on a walk and 4 hits. Kevin McAvey took over the pitching duties in the 6th and held Westfield Scoreless.
