Summit Freshmen Harriers won the invitational for the fourth consecutive year. The effort was led by Kiko Azevedo's meet record time of
12:25 over the 2.2 mile course to capture first, followed by a third place from Christos Hantzaras (13:00), a 5th from Wes Butler (13:31), a 6th from Marcel Godino (13:57), and a 7th from Erik von Haas (13:58).

The entire cross country progam excelled at the NCJTC MaGee class meet on Saturday at Warinanco Park. The boys finished third overall in a field that had close to 50 schools from throughout the state. Notre Dame won with 243, South Brunswick was second with 247, and Summit third with 258. It repesented the best finish ever by a Summit program at the the 27 year old meet.

Out of the 8 races (boys and girls), Summit Harriers managed 8 top ten performances - 1340 athletes competed on the day.

Summit women took a huge step in 2006 by capturing the Iron Hills Conference Championship by a wide margin at Freedom Park

The team was lead by Freshman, Kearsley Olcott (19:52.63), who placed 1st overall to capture the individual title for the Hills Division (1st Freshmen to ever win the Conference Championship) , with a time of 19:52, beating out Amanda Hefferan of Parsippany by 23 seconds. The Harriers of Summit also placed 3rd (Sam Lee -  20:43.28), 4th (Danielle Allocco - 20:49.08), 5th (Nikki Hallenborg - 20:59.57), 11th (Sophie Mannaerts - 22:29.59), 13th Michala Wilt - 22:42.70), 29th (Kristel McGhee - 23:54.23) out of 53 runners.

The championship marked the first conference championship by a Summit women's Team. The Lady Harrier's went two for two, capturing both the Dual Meet Championship and the Conference Championship.

Women:

The Lady Hilltoppers took to the Warinanco Course (3.2 miles) for the North II Group II Sectional Championship today and blew away the competition. Summit finished in first place for the second year in a row (last year was in the Central Section). Summit had 48 points, with Chatham, a distant second with 89 points, followed by Mountain Lakes (93 pts), Bernards (96 pts) and Parsippany (120 pts). The Hilltoppers were lead by freshmen Kearsley Olcott's impressive 4th place finish with a time of 19:59, a personal record on the course. Danielle Allocco and Sam Lee came storming in right behind Kearsley for 5th and 6th place. The scoring was summed up by Nikki Hallenborg's 15th and Sophie Mannaerts 19th (personal record at Warinanco). IT WAS TRULY A GREAT DAY TO BE A HILLTOPPER!

Men: 8th Overall - Highlighting a very nice career by the senior class. The class of '07 didn't qualify for the group meet their freshmen year, finished 19th their sophomore year, 13th their junior year, and in their final season posted a top ten finish in the Group championship. It's the best finish the team has has since the 1999 team finished a program best 6th

Women: 3rd Overall - The Lady Hilltopper's took to the Holmdel Course on Saturday and once again will advance to the Meet of Champions. This will be the second consecutive time the girl's have done this, which happens to be the first time in school history.

Kearsley Olcott lead Summit with a 2nd place overall finish. She finished behind last year's Group I Champion, Abby Hinds. Danielle Allocco placed 17th, followed by Sam Lee's 34th, Nikki Hallenborg's 42nd and Brittany Joostema's 94th.

Sat 11/18 Meet of Champions Women: The Lady Hilltopper's season culminated with a 16th place overall in the Meet of Champions at Holmdel Park on an overcast day. Our girl's made the Summit contingent of parents and spectators very proud with their efforts. Four out of our seven runners set personal records. Our average time improved by twenty seconds from last years low mark at the MOC. The girl's put fourth great effort and performed very well.
