Summit got on the scoreboard first. On their 2nd possession they mounted a 45 yard drive leading to a 4 yard score by Michael Vitale. The drive featured the running of Matt Defonzo and Vitale. Unfortunately the extra point kick was blocked. Late in the 1st quarter Dover scored and missed the PAT attempt, leaving the game tied at 6-6.

On their 2nd possession of the 2nd quarter Dover drove 67 yards in 12 plays and successfully rushed for the 2-point PAT. On the ensuing kick off a questionable fumble call resulted in Dover scooping up the ball and running for a score. Suddenly Summit was down 21-6.

Summit came back strong on its 2nd possession of the 2nd half. Summit drove from the Summit 15 to a 1st down on the Dover 25. Two running plays made it 3rd and 5. Two incomplete passes ended the drive and Dover took over. On Dover's 2nd play Kevin Lockhart intercepted a pass on the 39 yard line and ran it in to score. Edgar Ozals ran for 2 points and Summit was back in the game. On the following kickoff a few missed tackles allowed Dover to return the ball to Summit's 40 yard line. Dover stayed on the ground and covered the the 40 yards in 9 plays.

Summit never gave up. The Dover kickoff was returned by David Roduit to the Summit 35 yard line. Runs by Defonzo and Matt Ruark picked up a 1st down at the 45 yard line. On the next play Ruark went left and broke into the secondary and made some good moves to run to the Dover 4 yard line. Two running plays only got to the 3 yard line. The opportunity to get back into the game ended with two incomplete passes. Dover took over on their 3 yard line and ran out the last 5 minutes on the ground, finally taking a knee on Summit's 17 yard line.
