It wasn't pretty, but it sure was exciting. Summit took on a team that was at the bottom of the conference and had to go to double overtime to pick up the victory. Ulitmately the need to go to overtime can be laid at the doorstep of lousy freethrow shooting and the final victory in the 2nd overtime to great free throw shooting. During regulation Summit managed only 5 of 13 freethrow attempts while Dover connected on 15 of their 17 tries. But in the 2nd overtime there was a reversal of fortune as Summit went 8 for 8 from the stripe.

The game started out well enough behind the shooting of Tim Donnally and Travis Marchell who combined for 13 1st quarter points and a 17-14 lead. The lead grew to 8 points midway through the 2nd quarter with Summit in possession, but Dover rallied to get within 5 points. The 3rd quarter was a disaster as Summit was held to 6 points while underdog Dover managed a 2 point lead. Dover led through most of the 4th quarter, but Marchell and Donnally kept it close with 5 points apiece. It required Marchell to sink one of two free throws with only a few seconds left to send it into overtime.
Dover began the first overtime with a basket that was answered by Kyle Mahoney. Donnally sank 2 free throws to put Summit up by 2. Dover failed to score and Summit got possession with only 10 seconds to play, but a turnover led to a layup and the game went to a second overtime. Donnally scored to start the 2nd OT, and then hit on 2 free throws to go ahead by 4 points. After a Dover FG, Chris Kehoe answerd with 2 free throws. Dover again closed to within 2, before Anthony Popelier and Marchell each hit on 2 free throws to seal the victory.
Marchell and Donnally shared the scoring honors, each having 23 points, a career high for Donnally. In addition Donnally had 10 rebounds to score another double-double.
