This final game of the regular season started out great. After spotting Morris Hills to a 10-4 lead, Summit caught fire and finished the quarter ahead 15-12. The 2nd quarter was more of the same. Travis Marchell was unstoppable as he racked up 16 1st half points, Chris Kehoe added 9 points and Tim Donnally scored 6. Summit took a comfortable 29-22 lead into the locker room.
The 2nd half opened with a basket by Donnally and one by Kehoe to give Summit an 11 point lead. But then the bottom dropped out. Morris Hills turned up their full court press and Summit crumbled under the pressure. Morris Hills proceeded to run off 17 unanswered points before Kendall Baker stopped the slide with a nice 3-pointer. The quarter ended with Morris Hill up 41-38. Summit unable to gain any traction in the 4th quarter. Morris Hills scored the first FG, a 3-pointer, of the quarter and Summit never was able to closer than 4 points.
Marchell (21 points) and Kehoe (20 points) led the scoring for Summit. As he has done most of the season, Donnally dominated the rebounding with 12 and just missed another double-double with 9 points.
