If you weren't there, you missed a very exciting game. The lead and the momentum changed hands repeatedly. It came down to the final 5.6 seconds with Summit inbounding the ball, down 50-49. Travis Marchell took the pass, circled around and drove to the hoop hoping to draw at least a foul. He got off a clean shot, it dropped and the buzzer sounded. So, Summit advanced to the 2nd round of the group 2 Sectional against Ridgefield Park.

Mt. Lakes began hot and jumped to a 10-4 lead. Summit battled back and the quarter ended 13-10 in favor of Mt. Lakes. Chris Kehoe, Jordan Healy and Kendall Baker each hit treys. Starting the 2nd quarter Marchell nailed three more 3-pointers and Summit was in front 19-18. At this point all summit's points from the field had come via 3 point shots. Summit took a 25-24 lead into the locker room.

Mt. Lakes regained the momentum in the 3rd quarter and went up by 3 points. Mt. Lakes scored the first 4 points of the 4th quarter and suddenly Summit was 7 points in the hole. Summit then ran off the next 9 points behind FGs by Donnally, Marchell (2), and a Healy 3-pointer. At the 3:50 mark Summit was back on top by 2. A Mt. Lakes FG was answered by one by Donnally and a free throw by Adolpho Arietta. Summit was up 48-45 with 2 minutes left. A Mt. lakes FG and a Marchell free throw at the 30 second mark left Summit ahead by 2 points. Mt. Lakes worked hard for an opening and finally got off a shot. It dropped with 10.5 seconds to tie the score, but the referee said the shooter was fouled. He sank the foul shot and Mt. Lakes took the lead by a point. Summit moved the ball to half-court and called timeout with a meager 5.6 seconds left. They set up the Marchell drive off the inbound pass, it worked, and Summit lived to fight another day.
