Ridgefield Park had a great 1st quarter and jumped to a 12 point lead. That 12 point lead was also the difference at the end of the game. Along the way Summit got to within 4 points in the 2nd quarter and fell behind by as much as 14 in the 2nd half. Ultimately, Summit wasn't able to overcome that 12 point advantage. A look at the stats showed that both teams scored 16 2-point field goals and Summit held a 5 to 4 advantage in 3-pointers. The big difference, and it was huge, was at the foul line. Summit got to the free throw line 4 times, while Ridgefield Park was awarded 27 free throw attempts. At one points Ridgefield Park's Tello hit 13 consecutive free throws.
Travis Marchell was Summit's leading scorer with 15 points. Sophomore Jordan Healy scored 14 points. Other sophomores (Kyle Mahoney, Kendal Baker and Adolpha Arietta) played a lot of very good minutes and gave notice that this year's sophomores will be a force on next year's team.
As was true in almost every game, Tim Donnally was the leading rebounder with 8.
