by Summit. After a bad 3rd quarter, in which Summit scored only 4 points, they faced a daunting 17 point deficit. Rather than fold, Summit mounted a great comeback. Six points by Travis Marchell and a 3-pointer by Chris Kehoe opened the quarter and cut the deficit to 9. Anthony Popelier stole the ball and scored to make the score 43-36. On the next possession Popelier was fouled and sank two free throws, now their lead was cut to 5. After a St. Peters basket Jordan Healy drained a trey and suddenly Summit was within 4. Two St. Peters free throws were offset by a Tim Donnelly FG. Marchell connected on a 3-pointer after a St. Peters free throw and low and behold, Summit was within 2 points. The Summit fans were in a frenzy. However, that was the closest Summit would get as time was running out and St. Peters proved to be too good at the foul line.
Marchell was Summits leading scorer with 21 points and Kehoe followed up with 12. Donnelly pulled down 12 rebounds, but generally, St. Peters' center dominated their offensive board getting many 2nd chance scores. Summit was 5 for 5 at the foul line but, as is often the case, Summit was out scored at the foul stripe (12-5).
