Summit hung on to beat University Academy Charter, get to .500 and qualify the State Tournament. All but 7 of Summit's 65 points were scored by Travis Marchell (25 points), Chris Kehoe (17 points) and Tim Donnally (16 points.

After a slow start Summit found the range. Marchell hit his first 5 shots and Kehoe contributed 2 treys and a FG, while Donnally added a pair of baskets. That put Summit up by 7 at the end of the quarter. Summit took the lead to 8 points at the end of the half. Summit continued to increase the lead in the 3rd quarter. Late in the 3rd the lead was 11 points. Unfortunately, Charter went on a 7-2 run to end the quarter down by only 6 points.

Charter continued to have the momentum and scored the first 4 points of the 4th quarter. What had seemed like a comfortable lead late in the 3rd quarter had now been reduced to 2 points. Marchell and Donnally answered the call and got the lead back to 6 (53-47). Charter came right back with 2 baskets. Kehoe scored as did Adolfo Arietta, but a basket and a free throw by Charter made the score 57-54 with 2 minutes remaining in the game. Happily two free throws by Kehoe and two FGs by Marchell put the game away.

Tim Donnally had a big defensive game as he pulled down 15 rebounds to go with his 16 points.
