This was truly a heartbreaking loss. It is always a tough afternoon playing Weequahic in their undersized gym and Summit needed a victory to keep the idea of a winning season alive. Weequahic started out fast and ran to a 12-4 lead before Summit got settled. Things finally got going and Summit closed the gap to 2 points as Tim Donnally scored 8 points and Tony Popelier and Chris Kehoe each had 4 points. The 2nd quarter was all Summit as they played tough zone defense and and got points from 5 different players. Travis Marchell came alive with 6 points and Kehoe nailed 9 points. Summit found themselves leading by 6 points at the half.

The 3rd quarter saw Weequahic come storming back behind 16 points by Weequahic's #4. In spite of Marchell's 11 points in the quarter Summit found the game tied at 55-55 at the start of the 4th quarter. Two baskets by Donnally and one by Marchell gave Summit 61-60 with 6 minutes remaining. Weequahic answered with a trey and a FG to establish a 4 point lead with 5 minute to go. Twelve points by Summit were matched by 12 point from Weequahic and with 2 minutes on the clock it was still a 4 point Weequahic lead (77-73). A Weequahic field goal was matched by a Kehoe FG and 2 free throws. So with 40 seconds left Summit had closed the lead to 2 points. Weequahic hit 1 of 2 freethrows and Summit got possession. Marchell drove for a score and was fouled. He drained both free throws to make it a one point game, but Weequahic the ball. With about 7 seconds left, Summit got finally possession. The inbounds pass was successful, but the pass to Marchell, who was set up to take the final shot, went wide of the mark and Summit never got the chance for the game winner.

The big three had a big game with Marchell leading the pack with 25 points, Kehoe had 23 and Donnally 17. Donnally and Kehoe each had 8 rebounds. Weequahic's #4 scored an incredible 44 points.
