Sat 04/14 11:00AMMendham ALost 11-6 Summit (ranked #11) suffered its first loss of the season at the hands of Mendham. Mendham led, 4-3, at the half, and after the third of Lauren Dykstra's game-high five goals gave Mendham a 6-4 lead with 20:47 left in the game, Nora McGuire countered 18 seconds later to get Summit to within one, 6-5. However, within the next 10 minutes Mendham scored twice to make it 8-5 and Mendham had the game in hand.

"It's tough to face a team like Mendham on their home turf. We're distributing the ball better and our defense is better," Lasda said. "But Mendham's defense is strong and we tried to force the ball against a physical team." Tara O'Malley led the Summit scoring with 3 goals. Rachael Ardington, Katie Cooper and McGuire ech scored a goal. Sara Bloom had 12 saves.

Won 14-11 With senior Katie Cooper scoring three goals and Tara O'Malley two, Summit (3-2) rolled to a 7-2 lead in the opening half. The outcome seemed safe when Summit increased the lead to 11-4 on O'Malley's third goal at 17:10. It was still a seven-goal cushion at 13-6 with 13:40 left in the game. After a Columbia timeout, they went on a 5-1 run, but never really got close.

O'Malley finished with 4 goals, and 1 assist, and Cooper with 3. Meaghan Carey added 2 goals. Rachael Ardington, Kathlee Lyons, Jen Nuara, Nora McGuire, and Suzanne Bell each score once.

Summit (12-5), which visits Shore Regional, No. 4 in The Star-Ledger Top 20, tommorow in West Long Branch in the semifinals, received two goals each from Callie McGeough and Nicole Langworthy. Lost 16-9 Shore Regional (20-1) took a 6-3 lead in the 1st half before goals by Katie Cooper and Kathleen Lyons brough Summit to within 6-5. However, Shore erupted for 6 unaswered goals. The half ended 14-6. Tara O'Malley's three goals led the Summit scoring. Katie Cooper ended with 2 goals and an assist. Rachel Ardington, Meaghan Carey (1 assist), Kathleen Lyons and Jen Nuara each had 1 goal. Nicole Langworthy had an assist.
