The Summit Varsity Lady Hilltoppers took to the floor at SHS and came away with a workmanlike 56-12 victory tonight against an overmatched Dover squad. Summit raced to an 18-4 first quarter lead, off 9 points from center Danielle Scott, and 3 from Danielle Allocco. Scott had two more buckets in the second quarter to end the game with 13 points in one half of work. Summit swarmed Dover with a pressing double teaming defense, and Jamie Osmulski, who had her best game of the year in an awesome display, led the way with an incredible 7 steals, many of which she converted into baskets. She finished with 10 points and had 2 rebounds and 3 assists too. When Osmulski was not stealing the ball, Alex Reid, who had 3 steals, and Jenna Wilson, who had 2, were harassing the Dover backcourt into turnovers. When Reid hit a 20 footer at the buzzer to end the first half, Summit had its largest halftime lead of the season, 35-6. The rest of the game was a showcase for girls who really stepped up. Katelyn Allocco, giving way her usual forward position to take over center duties for Scott, was terrific, getting great position on the low post and hitting 4 shots in the paint in a row to finish with her season high of 10 points and 3 rebounds. Candy Marchell hit for 7 and also had 7 rebounds to keep Dover off the boards. Megan Osmulski hit a nice 3 pointer to extend her team lead there and had 5 assists and 3 rebounds. And the second half scoring was helped greatly by the fine play of Melissa Scott, who stepped in to her sisters' shoes and hit for 6 points on 3-4 shooting and had two rebounds and an assist for a great second half. By the time the dust had settled Summit had won by 44 points in a romp.
