The Lady Hilltoppers traveled to highly ranked HP and played their worst basket ball of the year in dropping a 40-55 decision. The story of the game was the first half. Summit jumped out to a quick 6-2 lead in the first two minutes on two great offensive plays by Jenna Wilson and an awesome turnaround jumper off a post up move by Shannon Murphy. But HP called timeout and then played inspired basketball and Summit shot 1-14 the rest of the first half. Summit couldn't get on track offensively, couldn't get a rebound, and turned the ball over too much. The second half was a little better as Summit came out to play more aggressively and got more shots off, and dominated the fourth quarter, with Danielle Scott (16 points) and Danielle Allocco (9 points) leading the way back, but the Lady Hilltoppers never got closer than 10 points as HP played stifling defense, made excellent passes to the open man, and missed three free throws the entire game.

JV Results

Won 37-31  Summits JV Lady Hilltoppers came back with a hard fought win over HP tonight.  The game saw a new offensive star emerging as Emily Cristaldi was looking for her shot and came away with 12 points including a perfect four for four from the line.  Backed by the usual solid offensive play of Candace Marchell with 8 points and Cassie Hall with 6, Summit took a close 27-25 lead into the fourth quarter.  But two key buckets by Courtney Wheeler and Abby Mell sealed the game up in the last two minutes of the ball game.
